The short version: Rechord analyses sound live on your device to name the chord you play. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere, and the microphone is only active while you are naming a chord. There are no accounts and no personal information is collected. The only data gathered is anonymous usage analytics and crash reports, used solely to improve the app and fix bugs — never linked to your identity and never used to track you.

Information I collect

Rechord does not ask you to create an account and does not gather personal data. I do not collect your name, email address, location or contacts, and I never ask you to identify yourself. The only information collected is anonymous analytics and crash data, described below. Everything else — the chords you name and your history — stays on your device.

Microphone and audio

Rechord needs the microphone to do its job: it listens to your guitar or piano so it can name the chord you play. That listening happens live and entirely on your device. The microphone is only active while you are naming a chord, and the audio is never recorded, saved or transmitted anywhere — it is analysed in the moment and then discarded. iOS will ask for your permission before the microphone is ever used, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings.

Analytics data

I collect anonymous analytics about how the app is used — for example which features are opened and how the app is navigated. I use this only to understand how people use Rechord so I can improve the experience. This data is not linked to your identity in any way and is never used to track you across apps, services or over time.

Crash data

I collect anonymous crash reports so I can find and fix problems and keep the app stable. I use this only to reduce the number of crashes. Like the analytics above, crash data is not linked to your identity and is never used to track you.

Purchases

Rechord Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I never see your payment details. Apple manages the transaction and your receipt under Apple’s own privacy policy.

How the app works

Children’s privacy

Rechord is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The analytics and crash data described above are anonymous and cannot be used to identify any individual.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, I will update this page and revise the date above. Because I don’t collect contact information, material changes will be reflected here rather than sent to you directly.
